About Our Preemie and Preemie Patterns

Congratulations on your preemie! And if you are making these cute outfits as a gift, thank you so very much!

Our preemies are so special - making a gift by hand for these angels is a wonderful endeavor. I still treasure the outfits I made and recieved for my preemie son. I am sure you will also. Be sure to take pictures!

Our son was born weighing just over 1 pound and measured only 12 inches, over 20 years ago. What a eye-opening event that was! Back then, even preemie outfits small enough for our little one were hard to find. In fact, the NICU held him in a make-shift Cabbage Patch doll carrier for a while, as he was so tiny. Today, I am overjoyed to be able to share these preemie patterns with you, so you can create your own unique preemie-sized outfits for your little baby.

I would very much enjoy hearing if you find these preemie patterns useful, and would love to see pictures! So please do share your stories.

You may be interested to know that the small profits after printing and mailing these preemie patterns have been generously donated by their creator, Diana Thorpe, to our volunteer online resources supporting preemie parents. These resoures include Preemie Child: the support group for school age preemies and the Prematurity: the website for your preemie baby and preemie child . We have been providing support to preemie parents through the internet since 1996.
